I swore something went wrong ever since I upgraded to DCS 5.0. I couldn't bring several engines out of the inactive screen? The grandson is over and he just keeps bashing me that he wants to run a different engine than the one Allegheny that the remote can find. So it seems that the inside mainline can find an engine but the outside main can't. The only thing I changed was I added a Z4000 to power it thru fixed #1. So I'm guessing that the wiring is wrong. I rechecked it several times and can't find a mistake. So maybe it's fixed #1 failing?
I'm explaining it to my girl who wonders why I'm so mad. Out of the blue the remote finally finds a CSX diesel that I put on that track and it runs good? Of course the grandson is not happy with just one diesel pulling forty cars after I've brainwashed him that more is better. I put another diesel on the rails and of course, the remote won't pull it out of inactive. I even got an out of range message. Then I press read again and the remote loses that first CSX diesel.
Finally I realize that the Lionel tank cars with sounds maybe a problem? They have not been any problem for several years but what the heck. I pull them off of the rails and the remote instantly finds each diesel and puts it into the active screen. I was so overjoyed that I ran up stairs to type this. Of course now that the remote is talking I should do a signal strength test. I just can't believe that all of a sudden a pair of cars with sound, can mess up the signal so bad. They always ran on my only inside loop that had 2 TIU channels. When I added an outside loop, I placed it on a single TIU channel. It worked but must have been on the fringe of weak signal??
I have to apologize publicly for a simple mistake that I overlooked. Just by running those 2 tankers on a different loop with less TIU channels, must have been enough to throw the system off. So it was the software outside on the G scale by messing up the lashup engines direction and even locating them.
The inside layout was just a mistake of what is placed where by me. I need to research more to see if channel #1 is going, or if it just needs help with my enlarged basement layout now.
