Anyone have an idea how to install the bracket with roller and get the spring correctly. Also is there a way to get "c" clips off without destroying them?

You need to explain more. What are putting it on? Engine, tender, passenger car, rolling stock?
ID everything and photos would be helpful.
These are the contact rollers on my Lionel 2046 locomotive. I have the bracket with a roller installed, but putting them back on and trying to get the spring somehow like it should be and then inserting the pin has been terribly hard so far. I was hoping for some tips. The pin is held in place by a "c" clip.
