I'm wondering if there is a Mobil app that I can scan my box barcodes and create a database for my collection.

What operating system, Android or iOS?
I happen to have both ..prefer Android .. do you know of an app ?
Not for Android. Sorry.
I use Bento on my iPhone to manage stuff like this. I have also used Delicious Library on MacOS to manage "Libraries" of things like tools and other gear that I like to keep track of. I just started using this for my train stuff now was well.

But neither of those read barcodes or extracts item data from a central database, do they?
I use DVD Profiler for my DVD collection, but it's only good for DVDs. CollectorZ sounds like what YARDTRAIN is looking for, but it doesn't work for model railroad items either. There are plenty of database managing apps, including Excel, but they don't read barcodes, you have to enter the data manually.
