Starting layout with Atlas track  and Ross switches using DCS.  I basically have 2 main lines with several sidings.  Between the main lines I have some switches that connect directly to each other and others that have a 10" straight section between the switches.  I need to know where is the best place to isolate one main line from each other at or within the switches.

I also have a reverse loop coming off the inner main.  Do I isolate this loop from the inner main at one or both of the switches.   Layout attached.

Appreciate the  advise,

Mike

Actually, anywhere convenient in the center rail between each pair of switch tracks.

How would isolating the center rail between the switches impact wiring Ross switches for non-derail ?

Also, with DCS, does it matter which outside rail is used for the common buss connection, and does using either one impact non-derail wiring or anything else ?

Should the same inside or outside rail be used for the common connection throughout the layout and does it matter if it isn't ?
