IT'S TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!!!  Team tracks are a vital part of day to day real railroad operations.  Why not share photos of the action on your railroad's team track (s).

Setting up a new scene on our team tracks is one way to keep our layouts in constant change.   Most kinds of freight cars and some passenger head end equipment are on and off loaded on team tracks.

This week on the Free State Junction Railway team track in Patsburg, Md.  a Reading drop end gondola has been spotted for loading.   With the assistance of the B&O BIG HOOK large crates are being loaded onto the gondola from a trailer.

If you miss posting on Tuesday feel free to post any day of the week.  After all team tracks can be used everyday. Have a great week!!!IMG_2111IMG_2101IMG_2108IMG_2106IMG_2104IMG_2103IMG_2099

Working on a team track of my own. I'm going to be building a freight platform on two of my sidings. I will post progress photos as I go.

Bob - Great to hear about your team track construction plans!  Looks like your are off to a great start!  Do keep us posted as your progress continues and be sure to post photos here each Tuesday.

Mark - I love the US Mail truck!  Where did you get it?  Also love the B&O rounded roof boxcar.  Your scene and story again are just wonderful!!

SIRT - I don't know about others but for me your grain hauling boxcar is the first time I've ever seen this pre - grain hopper way of shipping in model form.  What did you use for the grain load?  Great weathering work as always!!

Hope to see you guys next Tuesday on THE TEAM TRACK!  Have a wonderfully creative week!!!

Lionel will be marketing a series of these types of cars soon. Thought I would get a jump by offering the 2nd car to my customers. I installed a sanded Styrofoam block covered with Elmer’s glue and saw dust. Doors are weathered wood strips superglued to the shell.

CP grain story –

The Canadian Federal government boxcar rehabilitation schemes were undertaken in 1979 and 1980. The floors, nail able door areas, spot welding, and doors were repaired and spray painting was done. A yellow wheat sheaf, a smaller version of the government grain hopper scheme, was applied to the left of the door. Under it was a stenciled a bilingual message, reading in part, "REPAIRED WITH FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA".

Hi Patrick, The mail truck is a run of the mill '34 ford box truck I repainted. The large "US MAIL" decal I made using my computer and clear decal  paper and  the "26" truck number as well as the "US MAIL" decals on the cab door are from Champ decals.

Bob, Please keep us posted, we'd really like to see what you come up with.

Sirt, As usual excellent weathering job on the Grain Box car. Clever idea for the grain load.

Great piece of work! It's also a flashback to my younger years when I worked with a CN car repair gang. What highly-skilled job was that? Cleaning out the boxcars so the car gang could get to fixing them. There were lots of the metal strap/cardboard grain doors around then.
