Outstanding! You lowered them a lot and its a huge improvement. Of course, Kadee's never hurt either!
I have some MTH spine cars that I want to lower and make more prototypical overall. This is good inspiration.
Thanks for posting the pics!
Your welcome Martin
I always like to keep those Delrin Weaver trucks handy.
Clem, those cars look great!! Now all you need to do is take out those screws on the ladders and you're set. Very nice!!
Your right Jeff, I just don't know about those ladders, maybe paint white?

Probably the best bet would be to match the yellow, which on these cars is close to Scalecaot II "reefer yellow". Just my opinion- these cars look so much better, nice job on the lowering!!! That's exactly what it takes--
Those cars are so nice with those changes done. Very, very nice!!
Great looking cars Martin !! Definitely worth the effort

Excellent work. How'd you do it?

Hi Matt….. On the K-Line cars there is a fifth car for the middle. I think you had to send away for it. Coupon came in the box I think.

Outstanding modeling here you guys!! I really enjoy these types of topics. Very nice photos to show the end-product too- thanks for your help!

I know, but finding one now is difficult. They had a similar thing for their 40-foot well car pairs (wish someone would re-release those). I have three pairs and I was going to surgically alter one to function as a middle car of a five-unit string.
Sorry I am coming to this thread kind of late but just noticed it and...WOW!! I have a ton of the K-line cars and this thread shows how one can improve a nice car into a great car!!...thanks so much...
