We are holding a Labor Day website sale in conjunction with the continued production of our first full building release, the Cameron Apartments 6" deep building. If you have been reading along, you may be starting to understand that we can customize the sides of each building to fit specific locations on your layout: stand alone, left or right end of a block, or mid-block. We can even add windows on upper floors to relate properly with roof tops of adjacent buildings. We have done this to keep the material and production time to a minimum in each case and we think that we have a very fairly priced resultant product.
We have completed eight 5-story (CS-01-5020-BAY) and they are all glazed, half translucent and half clear. We just completed four 6-story (CS-01-5030-BAY) and only glazed the mid-block building (with translucent windows). Here's what the two look like next to each other:
Here's the same alignment, except with the 6-story building with windows on the right side. Note that the windows are not actually installed yet. We have left them out so that the buyer may specify clear or translucent glazing.
Lastly, here is what the 7-story building (being painted right now) will look like up against the 5-story building. Note that the right side has a full set of windows on the right and a single set on the 7th floor of the left side. We can either put the windows in for you or leave the left side a blank brick wall.
Here is the basic description of the release:
You are purchasing a professionally made O Scale Cameron Apartments CityScape building that is individually painted and assembled by Todd Architectural Models & Layouts. This building measures 6” deep. This particular building is modeled after an element of a traditional condominium project built in the Washington DC area in the in the mid-2000’s.
Each of our built-up buildings are custom laser cut, assembled and painted. No two are quite the same. The standard building comes with textured brick on the front elevation and a stucco finish on the sides (parting walls) and rear. The standard building comes with no windows on the sides (parting walls) and a combination of windows and doors on the rear. Optional items include brick on one or both sides and rear, and/or a double stack of windows on one or both sides.
The 5-story CityScape building, CS-01-5020-BAY, measures 6-3/4” long by 15-1/8” tall. This version follows the original building design, is 5-stories tall and includes a 2-story bay window element between the 3rd and 4th floors. The bay window extends beyond the main elevation by 5/8”. The marquis style canopy that is over the front door extends beyond the main elevation by 1-5/16”.
The 6-story CityScape building, CS-01-6030-BAY, measures 6-3/4” long by 17-1/2" tall. This version is 6-stories tall and includes a 3-story bay window element between the 3rd and 5th floors.
The 7-story CityScape building, CS-01-7030-BAY, measures 6-3/4” long by 20" tall. This version is 7-stories tall and includes a 3-story bay window element between the 4th and 6th floors.
The 8-story CityScape building, CS-01-8030-BAY, measures 6-3/4” long by 22-1/4" tall. This version is 8-stories tall and includes a 3-story bay window element between the 4th and 6th floors.
Each story is separated by a floor and ceiling, and is individually lit using 5050 Superbrightled LED’s. The rear of the building is removable to allow for aftermarket interior detailing when clear-glazed windows are installed.
The building is constructed of laser scored and cut acrylic plastic, Laserboard and Taskboard, and is professionally finished to be individually unique. Windows are fabricated using two layers of laser cut Lazerboard for sashes and frames. This model features two-tone window frames on the front. Single color windows will be installed on the rear and optional sides. You may specify clear acetate or translucent white glazing. Fascia and details are built-up acrylic plastic and Lazerboard. Each building is made at ¼” = 1’-0” scale and will be a welcome addition to your O Scale layout.
The skinny: There are umpteen different combinations of how we can build your building. Choose the one that best fits your CityScape! Again, this building can be stand alone, on the left or right end of a block or in the middle of a block. Look for more buildings in coming months.
