I started laying Atlas track with Ross switches with DZ1000 machines.  So far so good.  However, have a few questions on the process.

1. Finding it difficult to use standard Atlas track joiners to connect Atlas track to Ross switches.  The Ross rails don't extend far enough past the tie so that the joiner makes a good connections.  I've had to use a razor knife to make a slit in the tie so the joiner slides further back on the rail.  Anyone else find this issue ?

2. Is it better to lay out all the track first, then either make an outline of all track, disassemble track and re-lay track, or simply slide roadbed (flexxbed) under the already assembled track ?

3. After the preferred method in #2 above, I then must wire switches for power and non-derail, meaning track and sub-roadbed must be in place prior to wiring switches.  Is this the correct order of the process, or did I miss something here or is there a better way to do it.

Advice appreciated,
