Well... we have been at our layout location in a strip mall / industrial park for a little over a year and we are pretty land locked. The layout is 80% complete, maybe a little more; it's 26' by 45' in size; and we have about a third of our collection up on shelves. We have the opportunity to "start over" in a much larger space, on the main street, and just on the other side of the Monon Trail north of Indianapolis.
The new space for the layout is just over 96' long and 39' wide. There's another 500 square feet upstairs for storage and a workshop and 800 square feet out front for our desks and reception. I am thinking that this time we will do a large island style layout, in an "L" design, with a back wall for all of our building flats. Say the "L" would be 60' by 30' - something like that. One of the cool features of the space is that there are three large glass block windows on the east side of the building so we can get that early morning sunlight across the layout like Leaving Tracks has for picture taking.
I was thinking it would be interesting to get some help with layout design options. I am not looking to outsource the construction, but just design. Any suggestions as to anyone you think would like to work on this?
Thanks........
