To satisfy my "itch" to have a 2 rail layout the upper level will be 2 rail and the lower level will be 3 rail. I am using Atlas track. I have attached a copy of a track plan I wanted to use on a project I am starting in the adjacent room to my current layout. As you can see, on the left, the 3 rail will continue through the wall from my current layout. This will give my longer trains a way to "disappear" and support operating sessions by making the route more interesting.
I would like my minimum curve to be 072. Unfortunately with the dimensions of this room, 11' X 12.4', and the over ambitious track plan that is not possible. I was trying to avoid having a drawbridge right in front of the entrance to the door but may have to.
