I have built a 5'6" x 9'2" table in my sisters Florida room using three hollow core doors joined together and supported by three pairs of saw horses. I covered the doors in 1/2" blue foam, and topped that with WS grass mat for a base. I put up 1x4 trim around the edges and painted it. A simple but effective table.

I decided to use Fastrack. I experimented with different designs that would let me operate 2 trains at once, but only came up with variations of simple loops. I came up with the attached plan, that I kind of like. While better suited to running only one train at a time, it provides multiple routes which would likely keep my interest longer.

What do you guys thinK?

I think it looks pretty good.  I'm in a similar situation, trying to build a 6x10' layout and it's hard to fit an interesting layout in that amount of space.

I like that you can reverse direction and you've got several paths you can follow.  The downside is that it looks like all O36 curves, it'd be nice to have some wider ones but there's just not a lot of room.  On the plus side, that tends to make it easier to join things up when you're not mixing curve radii though.

Try adding another level.  Could be graduated or not.

Also, I might be boring but I always like one outside loop which offers the longest run.  Sidings would fit inside.

Maybe a passing siding where two trains can change places.   An accessory could fit on it or even between mainline and passing siding.

Just some different options, yours looks great.

Have fun, good luck, John
