Very nice
My youngest son isn't quite as optimistic as I am however, so he has a flanger parked in one of the sidings on his layout.

A question I'll hafta ponder, as my planned layout will be during winter and set in eastern Ohio and I have virtually no rolling stock. I'll be following this thread w/interest....
OK... you asked to see our snow removal equipment for our railroads, so here is a video of snowplowing on my outdoor railroad today!
*Disclaimer* It's just a touch bigger than O gauge...
Marty, that cracked me up, a Florida East Coast snow plow.

Nice
I have one piece of equipment, but no photo...it is that fairly common two rail brass
push plow, converted to three rail, found in an estate auction. Given my terrain and
location, I need a fleet of Jull and rotary plows.
nice touch Marty made me laugh at least you saved on the gas! alan
well, i got this UP Jordan Spreader which i have never had out of the box (i just uncovered it this weekend).
planning to sell it.

Here is a photo of a freshly shopped Jordan Spreader and Tunnel Car heading back out for service.
Both of these pieces of rolling stock are being pushed by an MTH Imperial Pennsy M1A.

Very cool
Re-purposed snow equipment; for those who know what "kudzu" is, you'll understand. For those who don't, you won't.
NOTE: the derailed truck nearest the camera; long weekend.
(OK, "kudzu" is a Japanese word, and refers to a type of vine that was imported to the SE US as animal feed and erosion control in the 19th Century. It turned out to be only moderately good for either, but, as much of Japan has the same climate as the American SE, it just took off, in some areas. Hence, my Crab Trap Northern RR "kudzu cutter".)
(I understand that you can make edible jelly from kudzu. OK. The "Crab Trap Northern" is
a Very Short Line. To the beach.)

We do not have snow on my layout. It is too messy and gets on the track and in the gears. We do have cold weather and ice skating though.

Perfect timing for a fun thread!!!

Good choice
Was going to purchase one of those MTH Railking rotary units for a snow scene.
Sadly the darn thing's rotary is about 4 feet off of the rails!!

Just as soon as my wife comes in the house from shoveling the driveway, I'll take a picture of her... Just Kidding!!!

you know your toast if she read that!
I need to find the photo I took, but ages ago, a pal of mine built a 'rotary' out of a 1/48 scale B-24 radial engine and cowling, mounted on a scaffold on the front of a flatcar, with scale brooms radiating out where the prop blades normally would be. He did a great job, too, it was painted in a realistic paint scheme and parked between a yard and some buildings so it wasn't obvious when you looked over the MOW stuff parked with it in the yard. I snicker every time I even think of it.

Me, too. Even dropping it with scale-wheeled trucks and a chassis re-work, getting a sufficient drop would be difficult. The MTH wedge plows are a better fit. The wings can be extended. A nice touch is that MTH included the rail cut-outs. The front on the prototype could be raised to clear turnouts and diamonds. This one includes the plug panel for the coupler pocket.

Wow, hacked off GG1! Is that a G.5?
Its a "G really"(gee really?), but Half of GG-1= GG-.5 or GG-1/2 So yea sure.
But ask me again, I'll look 2-C, if I can, & will C-2 a proper ID the next time I Co'(2') that site 2-Co llect more info on the 2'Co'. (I know its just wrong But is it correct?)
Its cooling fans were redirected, and used it in a yard, melting ice.
Why they met new people there I don't know.
I think it was #4846.

I loved this HO image..it looks like it "plowed something". Good a place as any.
second time in 24hs, but here's a different view. A back burner project
I really like that half GG1, have always loved the GG1 but it would never fit on my layout however after seeing this I may have to build the G.5 to run on my layout if I can find a usable shell and motor.
Thanks!
