lion chief not looking for remote

Santa Bill KOGR Forum Member DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

I am considering a Lionel 6-81308 4-6-2 Pacific Steam that does not look for a remote connection but all the features work with a conventional transformer except the rear coupler can't be tested without the remote. I don't have access to it. What are the most likely repairs and the cost and difficulty to get it working?
