When does Lionel usually release their catalogs? Is there anywhere I can look to see the new products?
Replies sorted oldest to newest
We don't know.... Lionel has been releasing catalogs at different dates than in the past.... could be April before we see one....
Usually, the Signature catalog comes out somewhere in March or April (right before York) and Volume 2 catalog comes out anywhere in August or September. No one knows for sure until somebody starts leaking info or dropping hints of possible upcoming products.
I asked Lionel this on their facebook page it was sometime last week. They told me that the catalog is being proof read.

Come on Charlie, throw us a couple more bones!
How about a "juicy" scale steamer leak?
Well I am hoping for more auto racks...at least a few more......Paul
I'm hoping for more big locos that are transformer driven and have whistle steam and other effects. Why?...they're somewhat inexpensive and allow us newbies to really have fun without needing special remotes or $1000 engines. I'd also love to see more B&M stuff...or even a New Hampshire Central Steam locomotive!! I can dream right? haha. Looking forward to the new catalog.
Feb LCCA Lion Roars has a one page article regarding Lionel's remote operating system that debuted in last years 30190 Thomas set. Expect to see in 2013 a remote James set, Percy set and Diesel set. Also the PRR Flyer to feature this new style remote.

Yes, yes, where are all the hints... "If you build it, he will come"
Ed,
Isn't that a baseball movie?
I wonder if there will be any baseball trains in the Lionel catalog.

Stuart - What would ever give you that idea ?
Hi Charlie-
Thanks for the info... Is this the traditional catalog next week or the signature catalog next week?
Thanks very much!
Well, 10 sets with the new remotes sounds great! I think it is time to pick one up, hopefully Lionel will have a new FT passenger set out.
Thanks for the hints!!
I just wish product hit the shelves same day as the catalog...
I am guessing that there will be an Illinois Central Gulf GP38-2 set in the Ready-to-run 2013 catalog.

Will they ever catalog the O Gauge BN, BNSF, TTX, and TTX red logo Maxi-Stack articulated intermodal container car set?

While I do have a copy of the new catalog. I have been asked NOT to reveal details till Thursday. That said I have a plane to catch back to NY. Don't forget our BIG monster once a year sale. Details at www.nassauhobby.com
PS Andrew, you will be happy. :-)
Will it be online Friday?
If Lionel does not have it on their site by Tuesday, perhaps it will be on the Nassau Hobbies website on Tuesday.

yes this would certainly be a great set, as Lionel has yet to do a starter set with just
maxi stack cars.
So, that means under a week until the joy and despair begins.

As always, thanks for the info Charlie... Looking forward to it even if it is just the RTR catalog.
Some new paint schemes otherwise the RTR didn't change much. Don't ask that's all I'm sayin.

My LHS already has customer copies. Don't see why you can't post pictures..

Because Lionel asked me not to till Thursday and I am a man of my word and will respect that. I have had a copy for over a week.
That's a nice looking BNSF set. If it has the remote I'm in!
Nope a CW-80@ $439.99
