Hello, I was e mailing with Stephen from Mr Muffims Trains, and asked if he could do a custom run of Lionel 86’ft boxcars on the red Cotón Belt and the Brown Cotton Belt! He proceeded to tell me he would have to get 100 of them, so I was wondering if any of you were interested in ordering one! The Red Southern Pacific version sold out within a month in two road numbers! Let me know what you thknk! Don’t know if there is a Brown SP version as I have not seen a picture of it!

I would get a red and maybe a brown.
Yes. If these cars are prototypical, i too would be in for one of each. NO graffiti please!

The only issue i have with these cars is real estate! They are BIG and LONG! I have to limit them to either a "great blowout deal" or colors that POP! I will NOT purchase them with conspicuity striping.[I don't recall seeing them with it.] The striping dates the cars past my time frame.
Hoping someday he would do a run in Erie Lackawanna

We’ll if we can rally the o gaugers , he probably would! Mr Muffins is leading the Custom Run bandwagon! I would need a phot though of an EL 86 footer!
Are these Cotton Belt cars going to be the 8-door versions like they were in the last run from Lionel?
I ask because all the 86’ cars from the latest Lionel, 2021, Volume II catalog were the 4-door version.
These are just my opinion,

Good Point! Thank you for bringing that up! I’ll ask Stephen!

Were you able to get any further updates from Mr. Muffin on these cars?
I got 1 from what might have been the only run that Lionel ran for these 8-door box cars and I would be interested in knowing what road names would be included in any potential special run?
Even though Lionel offered the 4-door versions in at least 2 catalogs including the most recent 2021, Volume II catalog and I still see the 4-door cars frequently around automobile manufacturing factories in the Midwest, I personally like the looks of the 8-door cars better.
These are just my opinion,

We too are curious on the status of this project?
