Mine works fine, however the volume is not loud enough.
I do have it set as loud as possible.
Is there any way to get more volume out of it?

Add an aux amplifier/speaker.
I raised the base of mine about 1/16' to allow more sound to escape.
Gunrunner, do you have a speaker you would suggest and should it be mounted under the table?
Chuck, good idea on raising it as it currently sits on top of sound absorbing Homasote .
I'd probably use one of the speakers that come with the ERR RSC kits, I have a bunch of those. They're quite loud with the supplied baffle. You could probably just wire it directly where the internal speaker is connected, but do disconnect the internal connector.
Gunrunner, thank you.
I did get an extra speaker and a Lionel speaker baffle, and finally wired it up this week (have to fit in trains with work). I put the new speaker 8 feet away from the detector and its speaker and now I can hear the announcements from any location. I like this accessory.
Really? I had to turn mine down.
I had to take mine off of the layout.
The new stuff set it off constantly.😉
Ok now for the $64,009 question, what is this accessory or piece of fastrack? Inquiring mind wants to know<g> ?

5" O Gauge FasTrack Section and building with the following features:
As an additional note- the track is special and the 2 are integrated together. There are holes punched in the hollow rail for the IR sensors and LEDS to detect wheel flanges and speed. It is NOT trivial because of that construction detail, to move the sensors to another type of track. Again, the sensors actually go up into the hollow rail and see through holes punched in the inside wall of the rail to make an eye beam sensor to ONLY sees and counts the wheel flanges, and because the sensors are spaced apart a known distance- it measures speed and direction of travel.

THANKS, TED! I was too shy to ask. Thank you, Vernon, for the reply.
