If you do a search the subject has been discussed for years on the forum. I have read through all of them and in summary the most effective way is to slow down the trains. Beyond that there is homasote, foam, rubber roadbed, carpeting, etc

replace with Gargraves and Ross Custom Switches. :-) per John above, all are valid ways with pros and cons, the question is.... is it right for your layout and only you can answer that. Personally if its not too late, I just wouldn't use the fastrack and would use the Gargraves and Ross.
Automotive sound deadening material can also be used, but not as effective as some of the others. There is also foam roadbed sold on either the 'bay or the Big A, I forget which.
If I had to use Fastrack and were building on a plywood base, I would top with either Homasote or 1" thick foam and then a foam roadbed under the track. That's about the best you're going to do without going to some extreme measures.
As others have said, there have been many threads with lots of proposed solutions. I tried several of them and found the only one that work for my layout was selling the Fastrack and replacing it with Atlas. YMMV.
