I'm thinking about installing or removing a turnout on a straight section of a layout.  Does anyone know the length of a Fastrack O60 and O72 turnout on the straight side and curved sides including the filler pieces?  What straight track sections equal the turnout length.

Thanks

Jim, the easiest switches to fit without needing an assortment of filler pieces are the O-36 and O-48. The O-36 is the length of a standard straight at 10"( With a curve equal to an O-36 curve.), and the O-48 switch is 1 1/2 straights long at i5" (With a curve equal to an O-48 curve.). Unless you have a specific need for larger diameter switches, I'd suggest that the O-48 is probably the best bet for simple fitting and a decent diameter. I've used several of them to add sidings without resorting to advanced mathematics to calculate the filler pieces required.
