Hi all I was wondering I have the Lionel polar express w/ remote and bluetooth, do I have to specifically run it on fastrack or can I use other track? If so how do I power the track so I can still use the remote. thank you in advance

You can use other 3 rail track. Make sure you have enough power if your going to run a larger layout.
right but where do I get the power from?
Yes, it will run on any 3 rail, O-Gauge track. I use electricity to power all my trains and recommend you use it as well. Mine comes out of sockets in the walls and I suspect yours does too.
To answer your question seriously, you can use any power supply used for O-Gauge trains.

You can use any power supply up to 18 volts, 60Hz. If it gets going too fast and you want to slow down the top end, it will still operate fine at lesser voltage, say anywhere from 12 volts up.
do I use a transformer to do this because right now there is just a power pack that plugs into the track and then the wall
You can use the DC power pack assuming your layout is of small to moderate size, but you will have to figure out how to best connect it to the track, depending on which track you use.
If you let us know which track you will be using someone can tell you how.
The remote and/or BT only "talks" to the train and tells it what to do. It does not communicate with the track or power.
