Is this worth the money? I am in the market to get a new engine for my P.E. set. I was going to get the announcement car also but saw that this set already has the "All Aboard" function to it. Is this worth it? I need to get a new engine bc i believe my engine is a first addition because it stalls out when i try to pull all the cars including the add-on cars.

The LionChief set is great value for money. The engine looks, sounds, smokes and runs great too. I have both versions and the LionChief is my favourite of the two.

I am in the exact same boat. It's for my son so I am leaning towards the lionchief but what I want is the polar express in the lion chief +!!
I am with you jhz563, I think the Polar Express is the first engine they should have made in LionChief +. If for no other reason than the speed control, this engine should be going up and down grades and would be much better with speed control IMO.
