For the last two years I have been running my trains on a simple loop with a single siding. The space is up in a carpeted loft above the family room. My goal is to utilize as much real estate as possible while still being able to sit down and run the trains. Like I mentioned, this will be fastrack on carpet, the only accessory being an MTH double engine stall located in the upper right hand corner. I run MTH Premier engines, on 036 curves and switches and never seem to have an issue. I just have to go slow through the switches as some of my longer rolling stock occasionally derails. I would love to use o48 curves, o48 switches, and possibly a second line so I could run more than one locomotive, but as you can see I am extremely limited on space.

Attached to this are copies of the two Scarm files. I appreciate any and all the help.

Let me know what you guys think!

Your plan looks good. I have two suggestions. I would add a straight track before the left bottom switch on the inner loop. I always like a straight before a switch when possible. It seems to help cut down on derailments when heading into the switch. The other spot is the switch into the yard on the top. That s-curve into the yard could be troublesome. Maybe move the switch to the beginning of the curve. that might give you a little more space in the yard too.

Have fun!
