Steve, your friend's video has had me looking at photos of other model train Croks. They all seem to have, in some form, the distinctive eccentric wheels mounted in the center cab section and attached to the drive wheels of each of the powered sections by means of connecting rods.
Can you or anyone else here give a little background and explanation of the function of these eccentric wheels, and why they seem to be peculiar to Crocs? Both steam engines and diesel electrics that used connecting rods balanced the drive rods with extra weight cast into the drive wheels themselves: do the Croc eccentrics serve a similar function, and why are they used instead of the counter weight in the drive wheels? Or do they serve a different function?

I was a little disappointed he didn't make the krock out of the pan itself. But loved the whole idea and video in general. Finally a Krock I can afford.
