I bought this on the Bay two weeks ago and now am blessed with being it's custodian. The seller knew nothing of it's history, but the craftsmanship is fabulous. The engine started out life as a Marx pre war CV and the tender is scratch built with Marx pre war trucks. Another indicator it may be some what old is the cloth covered wires for the tender light socket. Not a slope back tender fan, but I like this one.

You are killing me man, that is one of the coolest old Tin Plate Marx trains I have ever seen in operation, as usual your knowledge of Tin is top shelf, great find!
