Hello. Can I use a Lionel 72 Watt wall power supply on the same layout as a ZW275 ?

Not advisable on mixing those power supplies at all as the 72 Watt is the DC power supply and the classic ZW is an AC power supply. The ZW alone should be more than capable of running a 4x8 or so empire.
However, the supplies can be used on the same layout in isolation (separate circuits) if you insist. The real question becomes why as the ZW is likely sufficient alone.
Thanks Moran 4. I was just wondering if I could put those 72 watters back in. Don't really need them. And I'm thinking even if I insulate the sections, the front of the train might be on ac while the back is on dc when going over the insulated section ?
