I am seriously considering buying an MTH Challenger PS3 grayhound with yellow stripping. I would like to get the scale wheels but I mostly have hi wheel steamers that will be running on Scaletrax and I have gathered that I can run scale wheeled locos on scaletrax.
I need to know what the differences are between the scale and hi rail versions. I have one MTH Scale wheeled French loco 2-3-1 and I love it. Of course I know the scale wheel Challenger has the scale wheels, no traction tires but what I do not know is why the recommended curves between the two versions are different? what does MTH do to make the scale version require larger curves and why? is it flanges? Can you please tell me what are the differences between the two?
Also, is the tender correct on the Grayhounds? any "major" scale mistakes that MTH did on this model?
I really appreciate your constructive responses....
