MTH DCS remote Commander problem

The engine has to be factory reset to work. You will have to find somebody has DCS 50-1001 to factory reset it. 

There's at least one other problem. The engine should not be coming up with lights and sounds at all by itself.

Check to be sure that the DCS Remote Commander's red terminal is connected to the center rail and the black terminal to an outside rail. If they're reversed, what you're seeing is what will happen.

Since this is #1 scale and 2 rail base, find the polarity switch on the engine and rotate it.  Or turn the engine around facing other direction.  Now the DCS signal will make it to the board properly and it should stay silent as Barry mentioned.  IF it still does not work, it may need a factory reset per Chessie.  This would be a PS-2 3V engine, so no way to reset with DCS Remote CDR.  G

Ok it seems like polarity was one problem. But I also had to switch bricks. Things work well with a Z1000 brick, but they do not work at all  with a Z 750 brick.
