I might be getting the Western Maryland version of this engine, but can't find a review or decent video on YouTube of it. Are there any flaws with these engines? I want to know everything about it before I spend over $400 on it.

I have four of them in ATSF livery. They run well and sound great.
Paul, here's a short video of the WM SD35 for you. Not the best quality as it's from my phone. But nevertheless you can hear it well.

Now I want to go get it tomorrow...but I have school. Darn!

Now I want to grab that sound file and put it into a couple of my ATSF units. Really like that horn.
Whats's the best price out there?

Sweet set of engines Matt. I also like the string of high-cubes. Nick T
I think I paid 425 for mine on eBay earlier this year. I don't know if you'll find it much cheaper. You definitely won't regret it. It really is a nice engine.
I found it at Just Trains for 419.95. Within the state, no taxes, lowest price, no shipping, works out perfectly!
My apologies. Misread the thread as GP35. Though the SD35 has two more axles and is a whole four feet longer than the GP35, they used the same prime mover, so the sound should be the same as the GP35.

Thanks for the compliment. The hoops I went through on those engines is an interesting story in and of itself.
Wait!! Don't spend that much. Sidetrack Hobbies has the PS3.0 version for I believe $400.

Paul, nice to see you got one. How do you like it? I've done a little work to mine, added a plow to the rear as well as it is prototypical of the WM units. Next project is to fix the pilots.

I love it! The box says "Operates on O-36 Curves", but mine makes noises going through O-48 Fastrack.
