I should have just looked up! I have a couple of dummy engines apart for two rail conversions.

I'm looking at the post about OMI's details and realized that the MTH version has good detailing representing the air, plumbing and electrical lines on their engine too. I just need to remind myself of the value.

I truly like the quality of OMI's products. I can tell the crispness of the well built shells. I just have to stay within my means.

Mine run much better than the old days of mass produced under designed stuff in the old three rail versions.

Thanks

I cheated a bit on this one. I happen to have duplicate Demo versions that are 2 rail. I'm just swapping parts. I got stalled when I tried casting my own pilots. There was always a blemish on the cast.

I have abandoned the project as I have too much to do for the summer. It will wait for the snow!

I see that U posted this again. We have discussed this before. They don't bother me as much as they bother you. I could fix them to the body very easily if I wanted with my dremel and some time. I've got several MTH engines used for less than $300. I can live with the handrails going a fraction longer than the cost of what you're after in detail. I do appreciate the extra detail of a brass shell. I just can't afford it with the big consists that I desire.

Is this an inside joke?  Maybe I missed something?  I know I missed the handrail mounting differences.  I had to go look it up.....and after looking it up, can't say it bothers me for the application and price point.  If these cost $2000, likely a different story.  But they don't.  And they look great for the money.

Well, I can't answer that. I believe he is pointing out what bothers him most about the model. If you owned the higher model, you would notice this faster I bet. I noticed it way back when I bought my first. It did not bother me then. It still does not bother me enough to modify them.

Joe: I brought this up because it is a flaw, and thought maybe you have changed your mind about them. If it doesn't bother you tha'st OK with me. I just thought your subject title says, "MTH SD70ACe detailing" that it would be a detail that needed fixed. If that detail doesn't brother you, why would anything else?

Stephen
