Alan; you sure no how to hurt a guy. I loved that Turbo Train but only owned it for a day. As posted I wasn't the only one who had problems. Thank goodness I dealt with a great LHS, (Dave @ Mercer Junction) who took it back, or else I would have had a $800.00 shelf queen. I still want one but alas can't.
Didn't these have the same problem before, thought Mike himself came up with a fix??
VistaDomeScott,
Marty Fitzhenry posted this last year, take a look. This may help you with your Turbo Train?
cbojanower,
This also might be the post you remembered?

I can only find pre-orders.....am I not looking in the correct place for in stock??? THX!
The problem with the 0-72 curves is a pretty easy fix just bend the mounts slightly that connect the cars. The detailed fix is in the past discussions I think the links provided on last page will work, or do a little searching.
I had a motor that went in one engine or a board a while after I got it MTH did fix it when returned to them fairly quickly.
The connecting stablizing rods are very delicate MTH should have done these in metal but with care they seem to work OK.
I have run my train now at a few shows it is a big hit and looks great got the first run CN set.
A few seconds work to correct the 0-72 derail and the train should work well for you.

If it's listed as a pre-order than that one hasn't shipped to us yet. The others are listed as in stock.
Thanks for the links to the fix ideas that Marty came up with. He ought to work down at Columbia MD!
I wonder what the long range durability of these tortion bars will be. I can see plastic becoming more brittle with age and suffering fatigue.
Great looking model, and I was thrilled that MTH took it on. I only wish they revised problems and offered better response to customers. I still have not had a reply to my email and follow up email sent on MTH 's contact message page early last week.
