MUX boards in steam engine. Can I use a PS2 3 volt board and keep MUX boards.? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

working on a dead PS2 5 volt Premier engine with MUX boards in tender and boiler. I have a couple spare PS2 3 volt system boards I can use. I realize I have to replace the speaker, battery, swap the white harness clips with the black ones, and the charging ports. The engine is a 20-3084-1. The sound file on the MTH website is a 5 volt file. I need a mountain PS2 3 volt sound file that uses the MUX boards. Any suggestions?

Yes, the mux boards are the same.

Did you take notice that the 3V file is also on the product page that you specified?

I did notice the upgrade file but didn’t know if the MUX boards were computable. Thanks John. This should be an easy fix.
