Going by the unfinished tunnel lining, extra-tight clearances and high bench walls, my first thought was "Hudson and Manhattan". But the caption at the bottom says "The Brooklyn Subway, New York"
Doesn't look like a Lo-V, and deck-roofed HI-V's didn't have arched end windows. Neither did Composites or Gibbs cars (at least according to Google Images). The car has a brakewheel on the end and no door controls under the end windows.
I think I've tapped out my knowledge of prewar IRT equipment. Have you tried doing a Google image search with the photo?
