I have read and reread the DCS manual several times, but thus far have been unsuccessful in setting up an out & back route for my trolley. After hitting the learn mode and assigning the name for 1st station, then proceeding to 2nd stop, I am finding I need to press learn mode once again to get the LST to show up on my remote (and the same for the 3rd stop as well).
Any suggestions and/or help would greatly appreciated!!

Do you have a copy of The DCS O Gauge Companion, either the 1st or 2nd edition? If you do, look at the section on subways and trolleys. I guarantee it will provide all of the answers you are seeking.

Sorry, I should had been more specific... the DCS manual referred to above is yours, the 2nd edition. I know it's probably something minor, but for some reason while following the text for trolleys, it does not work.

The instructions for programming a subway/trolley route on pages 105-106 use standard terminology and should be quite clear. Please be more specific and use that standard terminology in describing your problem. For example, there is no "Learn Mode" key to press. What exactly are you pressing that you're calling "Learn Mode"?
Once you press the LST soft key the first time, it should remain available for subsequent station stops throughout the process. That is, you should be able to press the LST soft key when necessary without pressing any other key first.
What is happening to make you press some other key in order to see the LST soft key, and what key is it that you're pressing?
Here is the sequence I am using:
MTC->MLM->LST->SAV>ENGINE (drive to next stop)
When I arrive at next stop, I do not see the LST until I go through MTC-> MLM
again.
That's the problem.
Don't press ENGINE.
Ok, then tell me how I drive the trolley to the next stop without hitting the engine button? After saving the first stop, the trolley just sits there.

That's easy - just roll the thumbwheel up.
The interesting thing is that, because it works this way, you can never know the speed at which you're running the trolley or subway while creating the route, unless you use two remotes.
