I am going to start the benchwork for my first permanant layout...My wife and I spent the morning with Mr. Muffin and his wife and we are really motivated to get started...

So I am committed to include a subway as part of the benchwork to be exposed in the front and maybe even come up from underneath the bench top to stop at a station and then return to the lower part...

Has anyone else done this?..Any issues I should be aware of?

The basic benchwork will be 12'x18' L shaped around 40" wide with dogbone turnarunds on each end...

I would like advice from you all before I begin

Any suggestions on subway rolling stock would be appreciated too.

Thanks for the help....this is my first stab at this...so be gentle

ps...I am a fairly skilled carpenter

Ken, that layout was featured in the CTT "Lionel Showroom layouts" supplement.  I probably get shot for sugesting another publication here, but thats where it is.   There was also a track plan for it, but I don't think its was FastTrack, It was also featured in a few toy train layout books.  its a nice layout with very little Photos of it ever published or are known to exist.
