Well I am about to move into a new home so I get the chance to design a new layout! Heres what I have so far:
-It is a point to point RR built for operations.
-My space available it 30'X14'
-On the left hand side where the tracks overlap is the coal mine area. The mine tracks are actually 8" above the track that is under it. The RR climbs these 8" in the section that is lowest on the screen where the passing siding is.
- Where it says under layout inside the large rectangle it is referring to the under layout overflow storage tracks which is below the coal mine area (8" above it) this comes off a switch that is on the vertical track that also goes under the mine (as stated above)
- The long track at the very top serves as a hidden passing siding and a destination for the coal cars. On the left it will start as an entrance to a large power plant which coal cars will go into. This will be a large industrial area with many factories along that whole wall which will hide the rest of the siding.
-The yard on the right is Buckeye Yard. This will serve as an origin point for cars to be taken to their various industries and as a destination for cars to be dropped off to head Northish...
-All curves are O72 or greater and all turnouts are #5s or greater
-The very skinny horizontal rectangle is a view block
As of now the only problem I have is that there is no way to turn locos around...not sure where to fit in a wye
Please let me know what you think! Thanks!
