Hello everyone,

Okay I have been working on this layout for a while now and it is an around the room shelf layout. The dimensions are 13X19, but on the end I am limited to 10 feet wide because of the stairs. So I built the framework and the first loop of track is laid down. The only problem is that I am not sure what to do with the second loop. Like where to put sidings and other creative ideas. I am uploading a RR file because I cannot for the life of me figure out how to save the layout in a JPEG and the BMP does not come out correct either. I also tried paint.

Okay, more about the layout the shelf comes out two feet in some areas and 18 inches along the wall. At the end where I am cut down to ten feet, I left four feet of space. You will see all this while looking at the RR file. I also included some regular pictures to show you what I have done so far. Any suggestions or comments would be great.

The outside loop is O-80 and the inner loop is O-72. The bigger switches connecting the mainlines are No. 6's. The smaller yard switches are No. 4's. I am willing to build into the center of the room, but not a whole lot more, I want some living space to set up a nice couch and T.V., while being surrounded by trains.

William

Not sure what the problem is with the file, but I couldn't load it properly in my lite version of RR-Track. I was able to get the green background, but the layout itself was very small and way off the screen. When I finally got it resized to fit the window, none of the track showed up, instead I got a bunch of random dots. Perhaps this is because the lite version only includes the RealTrax library. Wish I could help though. Sorry.

Hey DoubleDAZ thanks for trying I am going to add the layout as a BMP and see if this helps. However see if this helps you get an idea of what I am working with.

Thanks,

William

If you look at your image, you'll see that the lower box is outside the layout. If you check your layout size, you'll see you have it set to 13.5x19 instead of 13x21. Having an object outside the layout boundaries throws off the display. So, my first suggestion is to go to Options >> Resize Layout and increase the height to 21'.  Personally, I oversize this by 6"-12" and then add my room dimensions using a set of lines inside the oversized work area. Either way, once you resize the layout to at least 21', the display should correct itself and your exported bmp should work a lot better. Let me know if you try this and also let me know what track library you are using.
