This long-awaited preorder arrived yesterday, thanks to "curbside pickup" from Engine House Hobbies. This is an MTH Premier, #20-21219-1 VO-1000 diesel switcher.
Burlington is not my usual railroad of choice but this paint scheme really stood out to me in the catalog and I thought it looked really cool so on my list of things to order it went. I finally had a chance to take it out of the box tonight and get it on the layout - perfect all the way around. I really like the paint and graphics on this engine and it runs beautifully.
If I recall correctly, this was previously a Railking engine but at some point was moved to the Premier line? Maybe with a few added details? I recall having one of these (sold it) a long time ago and I swear it was RK. Maybe I'm imagining things...
I think the best thing is the smoke effects with the 4 exhaust stacks along the front hood - really cool looking.
Overall, a solid winner! Glad I got it! Here is a picture of it, fresh out of the box on the layout for a first test run. Note the smoke...
After a few solo laps to make sure it does what it is supposed to do, it was hard at work switching out the Morton Salt Factory.
