I have 2 issues with my LI GP38 (K Line 2439-0262): no smoke or headlights. I can hear and feel the puffing from the smoke unit, but no smoke even after lots of drops of smoke fluid. Feel no heat from unit. Should there be any heat? Also, no directional headlights in command mode. They work fine in conventional mode. I followed the directions to reset the command mode, but still no changes in either issues. Don't know if these issues are related.
Here's another bit of info: I had a vintage Lionel Bascule Bridge on the layout, and occasionally, some command units would stop suddenly when on the bridge. Seemed to be in one direction only. The K Line unit, would sometimes reverse and the directional lights would reset and work in reverse of the direction of travel. I have since purchased and installed a reissue of the bridge (works great!) and this problem no longer exists with any of the command units. Don't know if this had any effect on the K Line unit, but thought I would share.
