I have read that there is a 2026-44 smoke unit spring that may help the movement and return of the piston. How is it placed? has anyone ever used a successful substitute? thank you.
I would not use anything but the "correct" spring. They are very light pressure and also, specifically made such that they can be compressed near flat without coil bind.
So no, only use an actual purpose designed spring IMO for several reasons or no added spring.
