I have managed to plan my way into a corner on a ceiling layout due to switch box interference with adjacent track. As you can see from attached photo flipping the box over to the other side is not an option (yet). Anyone know of a switch functionally the same as the Lionel 6-14062 but with a lower profile throw box? Looks like major surgery to relocate terminal posts as the center ground terminal looks riveted to the metal solenoid case. All thoughts welcome - Thanks!

The Lionel 6-23010 & 6-23011 switches are compatible with the O22 switches but a much smaller footprint. You can also remote the lamp stand for even smaller footprint. I used to use these in a yard, allowed for some tight spacing. I've attached the User's Manual to the post.

Check out the SuperSnap O-31 Remote Switches. They were sold, at various times, by K-Line, Lionel, RMT, & O-Line Reproductions.
Good idea Rob, probably a more reliable choice than the ones I posted. I managed to get all mine working, but it took some tweaking.
That profile should do it. Live and learn but I'd have also used them in a couple of other areas to reduce passing track separation. Thanks!
You can also call Steve at Ross Custom Switches. They now make an 072 tubular switch that fits tubular track. The switch machine is low profile and parallel to the track rather than at a right angle. That should solve your problem.

Yeah, but he is trying to replace an O22 switch, which is O31 in terms of curve. Does Ross make O31 for the type you called out? (I have no idea, so if they do maybe it is still a viable path to look at).
I like Rob's suggestion. I bought a bunch of the O72 version of those when the Lionel O72 ones were starting to bug me. If you don't buy them from a LHS, ask the dealer to test it before shipping. It wasn't a big problem, but of the somewhat large number that I bought, I found one or two that were defective, so I had to go back to the (relatively local) store for an exchange.

Dave,
Looking at the picture Curtis posted, I think an 072 could work. He would have to move the switch back a bit to account for the curve, and may need a fitter piece, but it should fit.
Ross does not list a tinplate 031 on their website, but they do have an 031 in their Super Line. So the possibility exists that they have already thought about it in tinplate. Worth the call.
