Here is a section of a plan that I am working on and before buying the parts, I wanted to know if this would work without any roadbed trimming?
Thanx!

The curved section- no problem, you have all the correct parts with the switch.
the straight section, if you are removing the 1 3/8 in piece and directly connecting 4.5 inch section, then no, you would have to trim that roadbed on the straight.
Again, the problem is, per your layout software diagram, I don't know how "they" show the fastrack o72 switch. If it implies the actual ends include the standard 1 3/8 pieces for both straight and curved sections, then no cutting is required.
If your layout software is true to the actual construction of O-72 Fastrack switches, and you are omitting the 1 3/8 and directly going into the recessed portion of the switch, then yes we have a minor but solvable problem.

Thanx Vernon. So, I would have to add extra 1-3/8" parts that come with the switch; will have to purchase more 1-3/8" since other places of my layout have it.
This would work now (option2)?
Honest truth, I just am not 100% sure how they are depicting it in your software. What software are you using?
Does this "element" in the track layout software represent picture #1 or #2
#1 with pieces attached- ignore the gap
or
#2 bare switch minus both "built in" 1 3/8 removable pieces.

I am using SCARM. It is #2 (bare switch minus the 1-3/8" pieces)
Pappu. Because the switch includes the roadbed filler circled in red, you need to attach the 1 3/8” fitter pieces or trim/discard the filler. SCARM doesn’t show that filler, so it incorrectly makes it appear as though you could attach the 4 1/2” piece directly. I don’t have any FasTrack, so I don’t know if that fitter piece of roadbed can easily be removed.

Thanx Dave. So, I will have to go with option 2 of my SCARM attachment... I replaced the 4-1/2" section with 2x1-3/8" and 1-1-3/4" pieces.
No, the fitter piece is not "easily" removed. It is part of the overall one piece switch backbone plastic roadbed.
