I was going through a box of train cars I had packed away and came across the box for a Pabst Billboard Reefer*. On the side are instructions to send in $5 and proof of purchase coupons from 2 Lionel Billboard Refrigerator Cars in the 9800 series in order to receive a specially produced N & H Box Car from the 9700 series.
1. Did anyone here take Lionel up on the offer?
2. If Lionel were to do offer this again with modern stock, would you cut your boxes?
*What is inside the box is a different story. It holds a Detroit and Mackinac #6736 Hopper. I had won the hopper on eBay and it arrived in the Pabst Billboard Reefer Box.
