I'm wondering if my old remote 1122 switches will work back to back in this layout(where the 65022-21 are located. The 1122 are non-derailing. Thx for the help/advice in advance. TW

The back-to-back configuration is not a problem at all. They are the same geometry.
Thx. I should have also asked about the pins. All three metal at that connection point? TW
TED W,
Rob is absolutely correct I used them and the 711 & 072 Lionel switches in this manner many years, before Lionel FasTrack was invented and sold. However the FT Switches with Command Control IMO have them beat, the FTCC switches can be controlled from a TMCC or Legacy Hand held remote control, and powered off of track power, the 1122's are better powered from their own transformer. I use one handle of an old ZW so I could increase power as required, when I added more switches to the Christmas layout. The FTCC switches are low voltage and 99 of them can be controlled from the Lionel hand helds.

Sounds like you need the insulating pins, without them the nonderailing feature tries to operate continuously. I believe they go in the inside rails on the diverging tracks.
Scotie,
You are correct sir.

Yes.
Fiber pins go in the short rails of the diverging routes on the 1122E, no fiber pins are used with the original(one year) 1122.

I feel a little stupid, but I have 1122. So no fiber pins on turn out part, but what about the straight end where they butt to each other. All metal?

And of course my pictures don't show the end I'm talking about. Its the other straight part. Where they join each other. Thx for the help everybody. TW
Same answer, yes, all steel pins.
