I’m thinking about buying Lionel Trestles. Will these be able to handle long heavy trains. My trains have 5 locos. Many intermodal & Autoracks. Also I do not plan on securing my trestles to floor. Is it a smart idea to buy lionel trestle packs?

The trestles themselves look very nice, but... In my opinion, Fastrack looks pretty silly on trestles.
Why doesn't the ballast fall down when the track is up in the air with no sub-road bed to support it? Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, though.

If you don't secure your trestles to the floor, what will you secure them to? Large locomotives excerpt a large force to the base of the trestles.

Imo ,no. There is virtually no added support to the plastic track. The track itself is flimsy and flexes under the weight of locomotives.
