Hi, All;

*sigh*

I've done figuring out how I want my track plan to run, so I took it all apart and doing the prep work for the *real* layout.

I placed a 1/2" foam panel over my plywood base to act as sound insulation.

I then painted it a flat brown to serve as the basecoat for anything else I wanted to use for texture later-on. I used flat latex interior paint.

Unfortunately, it's not very durable. Any little friction or movement, and the paint scrapes right off of the foam board.

So, what do I do? Use a different paint? Scuff-up the foam with sandpaper? Let it dry more (has been dry only 29 hrs)?

Thanks for any suggestions; I know there's an easy answer out there....

Carl...

I couple thoughts...did you remove the thin film on the foam board...some come with a very thin film that should be removed...this film is a tog hone for paint o

to adhere to...also, I find a light roughing of the surface helps...I add some portal cement to the paint/water base coloring...then apply the "paint" and proceed with washes and scenery
