I'm sorry to have taken so long to respond, but I just finished wiring my 32" by 66" On30 layout. Two years in the making. I still have roads, a bridge, some coal chutes, & some green scenery to finish. I hope in a few months I will be ready to post some photos of my progress & finished work.
To answer the question, this is what I have. PECO track and switches that are Streamline, 4 left, 2 right, & 2 "Y" (I have a 50/50 amount of solid & insulated frogs. The solids were all I could get while I was building.). Spectrum locos are 0-4-0 Porter steam loco, 0-4-2, Porter steam loco, 4-4-0 Modern American steam loco, and a Railbus & Trailer. I have absolutely no issues going through any switches. I have several pieces of freight rolling stock that do not have any issues either. I want to make a note here that I do not loop & change the direction of travel, so I do not need to ever change polarity except to reverse. I also have 11 switches controlling power to different sections of track. I like PECO track.
The Railbus with its 3inch spacing between large wheels does require "perfect" level track of which I thought I had , but it does fine through the switches. I've looked at the contacts on the Railbus & I think I will check the tension on the contacts to the wheels when I get some time.
I hope this bit of info was of some help.
