I had no trouble zooming in and printing selected pages in V4, but the V5 printing facility simply boggles my mind.  I find it extremely counter-intuitive.  To be fair, I really like the program itself.  The print utility is a step down from what was in V4.

Yes, I have looked at the Help and find it to be less than useful.  It describes the different buttons but doesn't tell you how to use them to accomplish anything.

Yes, I have contacted the author about this awhile back but never got a response.

Can some one please help me?  How do I zoom in and print selected pages?

Thanks,

George

I have  RRTrack version 5.3.   Here is what I get when I go to print:

To change the size there are 2 options:  select a preset size from the down arrow circled in blue or you can zoom in or zoom out by selecting the buttons circled in red.

If you have multiple pages you want to print you select the appropriate layout from the icon circled in black.

Hope this helps.

Greg,

Thanks, but the result is always the same - one page (entire layout) is printed.  Zooming in doesn't do anything.  Clicking the multiple pages icon yields a small version of the entire layout.  Zooming in on that, doesn't do anything.

Very strange.  Maybe my version is corrupted.

I will continue to use my workaround (screen shot, dump to Paint, print).

For windows users, search your computer for the "Snipping Tool" and place a short cut on your desktop.  With the window open to what you want to copy, open the "Snipping Tool", Select "NEW", then select the area you want to copy, then print it or paste it to a MS Word.  When selecting, you can have a choice of placing a box around the area or using "Free Form" by drawing a line around the area you want to copy.  I find this to be a great tool and use it for many applications, including the forum and emails.

I understand Apple has a similar program, but I have no experience with it.

I've never used this particular software, but from the screen shot, it looks like there is a scale and some "auto-scaling" options.  Adjusting these will likely change the "scale" of the printout.

I appreciate you taking the time to post but we're not talking about the scale - we're talking about being able to only print a certain section of the layout, such as in Excel when you select Page Layout/Print Area/Set Print Area.   While changing the scale setting in RR Track will result in only portions of your layout being printed on a certain page you have no control over how the larger layout is segmented on those pages.  There is also the hassle of scrolling through multiple pages to find the page where the area you want to print is located but then it will take up the entire page when printing rather than a only a small section.  Like this (done using Snipping Tool):

In RR Track I can get it to select an area but I have no control of what area is selected - in other words I can't make the area larger or smaller nor can I select any area I want to (and only print that area):

This is the problem George is trying to solve within the program.

So it looks like there are two print buttons at the top of that dialog.  According to their website, you must use the "Print Selected Pages" button.

I'm guessing you would change the scale to make the drawing larger (on the canvas) then use the page selection tool to pick the pages you want, then click the "Print Selected Pages" button.

Edit: I would try it myself, but they don't have a trial version to download.  They should definitely add one for this exact reason.
