For my nephew's Christmas carpet layout around the room, I'm looking for pictures of peoples portable control panels for Christmas, I have ideas for a waist high control panel, something like a pulpit, I would want to put two Z1000s on it,two, three, or four lionel switch controllers, a couple track controllers, I'm good mechanically with things making stuff, work but I can't do let's say woodworking stuff like this to make it nice

Not quite as high as a pulpit might be (although you could elongate it), but I made this simple rolling control panel. It was so long ago I don't remember precisely, but it looks like I used 1 x 5 pine boards, plain wheels, glue and sheetrock screws. Probably about 3.0 feet wide; 1.5 feet deep and about 3 feet tall.
Should have enough space for all your needs and can be stained and poly'd for a finished appearance.

With a stand like Richie C. built you could incorporate bins or trays to hold the trains, track, and other items used with the carpet layout.
I'd stay away from actual drawers on a small stand as the tipping potential would be there.
