I said I've wanted one of these, if I could find one, but I am surprised at what it has been bid to, and as quickly as it has. Nice colors.

 

If I remember, Pridelines was selling these under $1,000. As nice as this is, I think I'll have to pass at this price level. But, it seems to be that the odd reproduction tinplate is very collectible in some cases.

 

This seller has been putting up really cool items from time to time for a few years now.

I think you're correct on the price. It's gonna go up. I think it's one of the best items Pridelines did, and unfortunately, I did not recognize this when they were available new.

 

As the price of this item rises, for me, the doors of possibility open on more and more original items. And, as nice as this is, it is still a modern reproduction (being new, it should be nice), even though limited to 75 pieces.

 

I guess if that style of piece is something you are really after, we know that even at $1500, it is still a far cry cheaper than an original!

 

If this tooling ever did make its way to MTH, I'd then consider getting one. Great looking piece.
