I have a brand new ASC-2. I have wired it exactly as depicted in the manual. When I push the PGM button to set the device up nothing happens. The LED light is supposed to start blinking like every other TMCC device. It doesn't blink and I get set up the device. Am I missing something or is this just bad out of the box?

After 3 hours on hold with Lionel, I got my answer.
Care to share what the solution was?
Sure. The ASC-2 will not work with a command base. It must be a Legacy base. I bought a legacy 990 from Amazon on a deal for $255 including shipping. It works perfectly.
According to the ASC-2 manual, it will work with the BASE1L or the Legacy command base.
I guess my base was not working correctly. Setup was a breeze with the legacy base.
