Andre built these truss rod flats last year. I sprayed the top with floquil dust and then used hunterline stains to bring out the detail and add some color. Worked ok

I will, however my car pales next to the Pac Ltd flat I got from you---what was your technique?
I used a top coat of floquil dust as a base. I then used a brush to brush on sections of the hunterline: gray, medium gray blue and charcoal. I let them dry then overlapped colors to shade it. You have to have a paint base on brass to use the product. I will airbrush with it this weekend to see how that works.
